About

Hi! I'm Nisha, the founder of Growing Gardens in New Jersey. After a successful career in Computer Software, I have switched to horticulture full time. I am passionately interested in plants and the environment, and want to spend my time working with the same. 
To this end, I became a Master Gardener in 2012, and got my Landscape Design certificate from County College of Morris in 2016.

my philosophy:

I believe that we should work with nature to create our gardens, which are, after all, natural systems that have been adapted and adjusted to fulfill our specific needs and desires. 
I believe in pesticide-free gardening because it is possible to have glorious gardens, and even lovely lawns, without resorting to toxic chemistry, and all of us will be safer and healthier for it! 
We can create gardens that are more than seas of mulch, that are complex and dynamic, but don’t need constant watering and weeding and mowing and blowing. Our yards can be welcoming habitats for wildlife (even butterflies are wildlife!), and we will enjoy them more than just as static compositions of plants. If we treat plants as living growing things with their own needs, and we look after those needs, we will be rewarded with healthy, happy plants!
